Castlefield woods
With an overall size of 5.16 ha (37.46 acres) these woods are located in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Castlefield Wood was declared a Local Wildlife Site due to its value for biodiversity, something that wouldn’t have been considered after 1990 when almost all of its trees were lost.
I have lived right next to these woods all my childhood and I remeber it for one thing and that was the abandoned MK11 Volkswagen golf which is rotting away into the earth to this day. This car always astonished me to how it got there in the first place, with thick trees at every angle; this car has to have been there a while and now seems to be part of the landsape and has created a home for wildlife.
This work was created using a Bronica ETRS 6x45 medium format film camera I aquired the same year (2014). Using Fuji 400 colour film and HP5+, I got some awesome results that really resonate a natural feel.
