I had the opportunity to experience many parts of Switzerland because of my dads chauffeur job, pulling me along to see how the other half live for myself at a young age. Driving from the west all the way through until my destination up in the alps in Zermatt to meet a very famous singer from the 70's and 80's and her partner, at one of many residences to deliver her car and have a meal with them. After a thousand or so miles in a luxurious Bentley coming through Germany, Belgium France and all the way from Henley-On-Thames, I got to experience the change in the landscape, the houses and shops but more importantly the escape and a real sense of freedom. This was the furthest I had traveled by car and it really felt like a long way, but I was in complete paradise in the mountains with glaciers and streams everywhere and taking photos. I really felt secure in this country, more than anywhere I had been before, the whole country seemed to be in a valley, all the roads bent round the edge of the valley, sometimes hundreds of feet up going over a viaduct which looked like it needed looking at but was safe, Scared shitless in such a lovely part of the world. Oh the irony, such secluded areas and roads which don't get used much, for a reason they are bloody scary but it all adds to the fun, imagine zig-zagging across hundreds of miles in a 550BHP car which was as wide as the road.
This trip showed me many things and I think most importantly my dad showed me that it is so possible to achieve the absolute most in life, as long as you love what you are doing and commit to it and just master the skill; opportunities will open up that you can only dream of...
Ps. I didn't take many images on film back when I went so here are the ones I found and thought were worth putting up.
